The New Woman Foundation is a feminist NGO whose mission is the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women in society, whether economic, social, cultural, political or in legal systems.
About
The New Woman Foundation ( NWF) is an Egyptian feminist non- govermmental organization . It began is activities in 1984 as informal study group, initially formed by a number of women who were activities on issue of democracy and social Justice.
The organization has since evolved to embrace numerous activities as well as different generations. It has also taken on different legal forms and was recently registered with the ministry of social affairs in 2004 as a foundation in accordance with law 84/2002.
NWF believes in women’s unconditional right to freedom equality and social justice and consider women’s social m, political ,economic , citizenship and reproductive rights as an integral part of human rights .in this context ,NWF believes that the struggle for woman cannot be separated from the struggle of nations and people for freedom and liberation from oppression.
Vision NWF believes that the struggle for women’s liberation ispart of a wider struggle for democracy and social justice, it is also a struggle against all forms of discrimination based on gender ,class race ethnicity or religion and against all forms of oppressive power relationships at the national ,regional or global levels.
Misson The elimination of all forms of discrimination against women in society ,whether economic ,socio – culture ,political or legal systems.
Approach NWF works through advocacy, action-oriented research and mobilization of women around gender specific issues :
- Targeting women’s empowerment and self determination.
- Raising social awareness and information dissemination
- Challenging taboos regarding women’s issue and adopting uncompromising potions.
- Mainstreaming women right issue on the social and political agendas..

NWF: has contribution to the establishment of the following.
- The NGO’s coalition for the implementation of the Beijing platform of Action with a focus on the stream of violence against women (CEdAW)
- The 8 th of march committee to celebrate international women Day and Egyptian women’s Day .
- The Women’s Organization forum for change.
- The Arab women forum “Aisha”
- The Arab Group to promote the ratifications and impalement of ‘Cedaw”
- The African partnership for sexual and reproductive Health and rights for women and girls “Amanitare’
