Summary
The Omid Foundations consist of three registered charities (in Iran, the US and the UK), which were established by Marjaneh Halati, a London-based social psychologist and psychotherapist.
About
The Omid Foundations' mission is to strengthen the social, emotional, and economic competencies of disadvantaged young women (aged from 15 to 25) in Iran, providing them with a sense of self-worth and with the opportunities to experience a full range of life options through self-empowerment, education and training.

The Omid-e-Mehr center is a safe haven where young women with troubled pasts can take refuge. Here we build self-esteem and develop vocational skills to ensure bright futures.However, we have to turn away hundreds of women every year, so we need your help to open a new center. With regular donations from around the world we hope to be able to help hundreds more women in a second Omid-e-Mehr center.
Volunteer
In order to keep their costs at a minimum, only two of the staff members outside Iran hold paid positions (one in the US and one in the UK), their main task being the coordination of our fundraising efforts outside Iran. So, the help of volunteers is crucial to the running of their organization and they use volunteers from across the world.
