Summary
The Centre for Women's Research conducts research, action programs, gender sensitization and training, information dissemination and awareness raising on women's rights.
About
A group of academics, researchers and activists involved in research and action-oriented programmes relating to women joined together in 1984 to form the Centre for Women’s Research (CENWOR) to respond to the lack of data concerning the disadvantaged position of women.
CENWOR started with policy and action oriented research and has expanded its work to include action programmes, gender sensitization and training, information dissemination and awareness raising on women's rights. CENWOR joined with other women’s groups to lobby and advocate for policy changes to secure women’s rights. Its research studies encompassed a wide array of gender issues and these findings are shared widely through print and electronic media to enable others involved in gender issues to advocate on these issues.
CENWOR's Vision: Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women
