This forum will provide an opportunity for a fruitful and stimulating discussion on the strong links between gender and climate change adaptation to mark the International Women's Day celebrations. Our discourse will focus on poor women in particular and how they manage to cope in spite of the hardships brought about by climate change. Among the many goals Ethiopia set out to achieve in the Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP), climate change adaptation is a key focus. It is time for Ethiopia's women to spearhead integrated efforts for climate change adaptation and against population growth and poor health status.
